Pavilion
Envisioned as a gathering place for all, the Pavilion welcomes students, families and visitors into a 10-acre parkland for enjoyment, exercise, reflection and environmental study. Programs and events for children and adults are offered in collaboration with Westfield Public Schools, The MASS Audubon Society, The Naturalist’s Club of Western MA, the Pioneer Valley STEM Network and the MASS DCR-Greening the Gateway Cities.
Open spaces in a natural setting invite quiet enjoyment, encourage physical and cognitive health and promote an awareness of the beauty and fragility of our natural world. How we preserve and protect these spaces depends on how well we understand that their survival ensures our own. Outdoor programming for children K-12 and for adults will be managed by Friends of Grandmothers’ Garden, Inc. with cooperative support from local institutions. We are honored to collaborate with organizations such as the Westfield Athenaeum, YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, Massachusetts Audubon Society, Naturalist Club and Children’s Museum. All our partners offer excellent opportunities for creative and artistic dialogue as well as for passive and recreational enjoyment.
Pavilion Events and Programs are managed by VOLUNTEERS!
