Chauncey Allen Park
Arboretum
Friends of Grandmothers’ Garden, Inc., in association with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts “Greening the Gateway Cities” has created a public Arboretum that welcomes the community into a unique learning environment. Accessible walkways invite visitors into a journey of discovery showcasing diverse native and ornamental trees. Historic parkland, ponds, woodlands and wetlands surround the Arboretum. The journey educates and enlightens visitors about how parks and wetlands can be properly managed to become invaluable public assets that sustain both the community and the environment.
The Arboretum is adjacent to Grandmothers’ Garden and the Chauncey Allen Park Pavilion. Its canopy supports a living laboratory, encouraging exploration, recreation and wellness in a serene, natural setting.
